Unwavering Supplication

When Supplicating to Allah, one must be resolute or decisive in his request. The person must supplicate with seriousness and sincerity. There should be no wavering or doubt in his heart. The Prophet, peace be upon him, taught that one should not say, "O Allah forgive me if You will." The Prophet said,

"If one of you supplicates, do not say, 'O Allah, forgive me if You will.' But instead you should ask with will and conviction, for there is nothing so great to Allah that He cannot grant it." [Muslim]
